I don't know if this is going to be a guide but more of some things I love about Glasgow and love to go, therefore I think you should check out.

HIVE, Beer Bar, GUU in General

If your a Glasgow University student and not been to GUU for a night out then your definitely missing out. In freshers week I'd say GUU and QMU are pretty even in events, but throughout the year GUU is the only place to go. There are events such as St Paddys, Daft Friday and End of Year Party which are long events but they are also have the regular HIVE Thursday club night. This is a great way to meet people and the night becomes better as you know more people at uni as it is just full of Glasgow Uni students. Beer bar is a great place to chill and go for pints especially in the summer. The union also has a Subway and the Union Kitchen. So make sure you get a membership for GUU when university starts.

The Buff Club

This is a club I discovered only later on into my first year and think more freshers should know about it. There are great tunes and its such a chilled vibe and the drink is so cheap. Its somewhere I think you should check out.

Sanctuary (Wednesdays)

This is another Glasgow Uni club night and if you join any sports societies in your first year you will certainly go to Sanctuary on Wednesdays. This is a great night but very different to Sanctuary Saturdays where drinks are expensive and its way more dressy so check what say of the week it is before you go.

Soul Jam

This is a super fun club night held at The Art School a few times a year with disco tunes which is so much fun. If you get the chance to go defo do it but tickets sell out fast.

Bruch Places

There are so many brunch places in the West End and here are a few of my favourites. Cafe Zique has an amazing breakfast and brunch menu, The Left Bank has an amazing full breakfast and Partick Duck Club as an amazing brunch menu. They all are a little expensive but great for a hangover and a little treat.

Kelvingrove Park in Summer

Kelvingrove is a great place to spend the summer days that Glasgow gets every so often and it is great for barbecues. Its great fun and if you are drinking keep in on the low down as there are police and drinking in public isn't legal in Glasgow.

Braehead Activities

This is a great place to go have fun with friends, it is a bit further out but definitely worth it. Some of the things that are there are mini golf, arcades, laser tag and bowling which are great things to do with uni friends.

On Campus Guide

  • Fraser building pannis are amazing! The pizzas are pretty good to.

  • The uni does a gym buddy system if your nervous about going to the gym alone.

  • The library is always busy so make sure to get there early in exam periods and don't be that annoying person that reserves seats.

  • S'mug coffee is a great place to get hot drinks and food.

Good luck with starting uni in Glasgow and keep an eye on my blog and YouTube for more university posts.
